Teams & cloud sync
Cloud sync
When you close a profile, the app encrypts its browser data (cookies, local storage, IndexedDB) on your device with AES-256-GCM and uploads the ciphertext. When you open the profile on another device, the latest snapshot is downloaded and decrypted locally.
- The server stores only ciphertext and never has your keys.
- The last few snapshots are kept per profile (the number depends on your plan).
- The sync status is shown next to each profile.
Keys
Each user has a key pair. The private key is protected by your sync passphrase and kept in your operating system's keychain on each device. Team profiles are encrypted with a team key that is shared with each member by encrypting it to their public key.
Profile locking
While a profile is open on one device it is locked everywhere else, so two people never write to the same profile at once. Locks expire automatically if a device goes offline, and owners/admins can force-unlock.
